Frequently asked questions

Why does auto-tracking ask for Always location and Motion access?

Auto-tracking works by noticing when you drive away from where you parked, and that detection has to run while the app is closed. iOS only allows that with the Always location permission; the While Using setting stops the moment you put your phone away. Motion access lets the app tell driving apart from walking or cycling, so trips start and stop at the right moments. Location is used only to record trips, and everything recorded stays on your phone.

What happens when my 12-week sprint ends?

The app closes the sprint and calculates your business-use percentage from the trips you classified. Under the ATO logbook method, that percentage then applies to your car expenses for the whole tax year, not just the 12 weeks. Your logbook stays in the app as the record behind the number, ready to export whenever you need it.

How do I export my logbook for my accountant?

Open the Reports tab and choose Export. You can produce a PDF laid out for a tax agent to read, or a CSV if they prefer a spreadsheet, and share it by mail, message, or any share-sheet destination. Exports only happen when you trigger them; nothing is sent anywhere on its own.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

LogSprint Pro is one subscription, billed by Apple as either A$49.99 per year or A$5.99 per month, and it renews until you cancel. Because Apple handles billing, you manage it in your App Store settings rather than inside the app: open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions on your iPhone and choose LogSprint. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the period you already paid for.

Where is my data stored, and how do I delete it?

Your entire logbook lives in a local database on your iPhone. There is no LogSprint account and no server holding a copy, so deleting the app deletes the data. If you turned on iCloud backup, the backup sits in your own iCloud Drive under your Apple ID; delete that file from iCloud Drive to remove the copy.

A drive was missed or looks wrong. What do I do?

No automatic tracker is perfect, so LogSprint shows gaps in your trip list instead of hiding them. You can add a missed trip manually, or open a recorded trip and correct its details. Every edit is kept in an audit trail, so your logbook stays an honest record even after you fix it.
